1. Introduction

Welcome to Triviathon, ELM's technical competition platform. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our platform and participation in our competitions, including trivia challenges, hackathons, and innovation competitions. By registering and using this platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Triviathon platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the platform.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to register and participate
• You must have a valid email address from an authorized organization
• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

4. User Conduct

When using Triviathon, you agree to:

• Not engage in cheating, collusion, or any form of dishonest behavior
• Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to gain unfair advantages
• Not share answers or collaborate with other participants unless explicitly permitted
• Respect other participants and maintain professional conduct at all times
• Not attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the platform's security or integrity

5. Privacy and Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously. Your personal information, including email, name, and employee number, will be encrypted and stored securely in accordance with OWASP security standards and GDPR/PDPL requirements. We will never share your personal information with third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Triviathon platform, including questions, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of ELM or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

7. Competition Rules

• All answers must be submitted within the specified time limits
• Scoring is calculated based on correctness and response time (tie-breaker)
• Leaderboard rankings are updated in real-time and are final
• ELM reserves the right to disqualify participants for rule violations
• Prize distributions are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Triviathon platform is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. You use the platform at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ELM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the platform.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notifications.
